Such Is The State Of Healthcare In This Country

My son served in Iraq as a Marine back in 2005. He was discharged at his EAOS in 2006. He is going to college on the GI bill. And he has no health insurance.

He has had a sinus infection going on a number of weeks. I asked him why he hasn't gone to the doctor. "Costs too much" he said. Since he has no health insurance he has a few options:

1. Go to the emergency room at the local hospital
2. Go to the VA which is 50 miles away
3. Go to the doctor and pay full price for the visit + Rx

A person should not have to be afraid of how much a doctor visit will cost.
